How to Find Us
BBER Services
The Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) offers many services to the public and to clients. The most utilized service we offer is that provided by our Data Bank, which offers access to and explanations of New Mexico socioeconomic and demographic data. You can learn more about the Data Bank by clicking on the Data link in the red bar above or by clicking on the "About the Data Bank" link to the left.
Conferences
BBER puts together two annual conferences: the New Mexico Data Users Conference and the New Mexico Economic Outlook Conference. The Data Users Conference is a day-long conference held in the fall at the UNM Continuing Education Building. This conference offers attendees a plenary session and many breakout sessions throughout the day relating to various uses of socioeconomic and demographic data. Many attendees of this conference attend year after year and include students and representatives of businesses, government agencies, and service organizations. For more information about the Data Users Conference follow the link to the left.
The Economic Outlook Conference is a day-long conference held at UNM annually in winter. This conference features presentations by local and national economics experts and is well-attended by business and governmental representatives. For more information about the Economic Outlook Conference follow the link to the left.
Data Bank
The Data Bank is a specialized reference service of the BBER whose staff have expertise in accessing and explaining New Mexico socioeconomic data. It is a repository for New Mexico-specific publications and periodicals, many of which are available nowhere else. Data Bank staff handle one-on-one data requests, post data to the BBER web site and make presentations on related topics. For more information about the Data Bank follow the link to the left.
Presentations and Training
BBER also provides presentations and technical training. BBER staff regularly present to University of New Mexico classes and at regional forums, conferences, and meetings. Data Bank staff members frequently provide training on interpreting and using publicly-available data. Other BBER staff have offered training under contract in economic and fiscal impact analysis and local government finance, among other topics. For samples of BBER presentations follow the link to the left.
