The Census Bureau released estimates for incorporated places through 2008 on July 1, 2009. This release included estimates for July 1, 2000 through July 1, 2008. The estimates for 2008 are new and the figures for 2000 to 2007 are revised. We've formatted the tables listed below from the data published by the Census Bureau. The Excel file contains all the tables you see posted here in descending order (2008-2000), plus the same date shown in ascending order (2000-2008).
Note: The July 1, 2008 population estimate for New Mexico, published by the Census Bureau (2008 round of estimates) is 1,984,356. This represents an increase of 9.1% since April 1, 2000. Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) analysis indicates that this growth rate is low in light of other economic and demographic indicators for the state. The BBER estimate of 2,080,047 for July 1, 2008 shows a 14.3% increase from April 1, 2000 to July 1, 2008.
