17th Annual New Mexico Data Users Conference

CNM Workforce Training Center 5600 Eagle Rock Ave, Albuquerque, NM 87113.

This year we had John Thompson the director of the US Census Bureau as our keynote speaker. Mike Radcliff the director of the Geography Division address the conference. Also, Barb LaFleur provided the Census Overview and a hands-on demo of the Census Business Development Tool.

Participants learned about the latest data products, methods of access, and applications at this information-filled conference.

The featured speakers from the US Census Bureau covered GIS, 2020 Census preparations news and Census Business Development tool. Mike Ratcliffe of the Census Bureau's Geography Division coveed the history of geography topics at the Census as well as current GIS developments. Barb LaFleur, from the Data Users Branch Customer Liaison and Marketing Services Office of U.S. Census Bureau will cover all the new changes occurring at the Census Bureau and the early preparations for the 2020 Decennial Census. She will also present during two breakout sessions.

Additionally there were ten state and local experts on the agenda. Speakers for the conference include representatives from New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions, City of Albuquerque, and The University of New Mexico. Topics for the conference range from demographics, population estimates, population forecast, mapping, GIS, education, business, employment and Open Source Data.
