Today the NM Data Users Conference is one week away. There is still time for people to register. We have a great lineup of speakers covering Census and Economic data for NM visit http://bber.unm.edu/data-users-conference for the finalized agenda and registration information.
Preparations for the 2020 Census are underway right now at the Census Bureau. How NM officials and local municipalities respond to these preparations may affect the accuracy of NM’s counts during the 2020 Census. During the afternoon two additional breakouts have been added to focus on New Mexico’s preparations. The Census Bureau will be sending Christopher Wingate who works with the Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS) and Local Update of Census Address (LUCA) programs to inform participants of these programs and how participation by the state will ensure a complete count in 2020. Then the working group New Mexico Decennial Focus Group a Geospatial Advisory Committee (GAC) Subcommittee will hold a round table discussion on the issues facing NM and it’s interactions with the Census Bureau in preparation for the 2020 Decennial Census. These two sessions will be open to both conference attendees and the public. To those in the public who are just interested in these two breakouts please RSVP with the Data Bank at 277-3038.
