The concept of 'open data' refers to data that is made publicly available without prohibitive copyright restrictions. Users of open data are able to freely access these sets and do with them as they see fit, using, re-using, and distributing. Such open sources of data are becoming increasingly popular around the globe, and New Mexico has seen an emergence of its fair share of open data sources. Included in the left pane are a few samples of the kinds of open data made available in New Mexico, as well as links to further open sources.
