Contract research has always been a mainstay at the BBER and the studies have been widely varied, covering numerous economic and demographic topics. Examples of recent projects include a study of the New Mexico tax burden for the State’s Legislative Finance Committee; a study of poverty in New Mexico for the Legislative Finance Committee; an AFDC caseload forecasting model for the New Mexico Human Services Department; the economic impact of Los Alamos National Laboratory on Northern New Mexico for the Northern New Mexico Defense Adjustment Task Force; Albuquerque Image Surveys for the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau; and socioeconomic projections of the electric service areas of the Public Service Company of New Mexico and Plains Electric.
Many contractual studies have been summarized in reports that are available to the public. For samples of our work in PDF format go to the Publications section of our site.
