The Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) at UNM conducts economic and demographic research and analysis related to New Mexico. The BBER also maintains a library of socioeconomic data: the Data Bank, which is open to the public. This library includes an extensive decennial census collection, along with a wide assortment of other economic and demographic information.
BBER products and activities include a monthly statistical report, New Mexico Business-Current Economic Report, available by subscription; sponsorship of the annual New Mexico Data Users Conference; the FOR-UNM Economic Forecasting Service and quarterly FOR-UNM Bulletin, available on a subscription basis; co-sponsorship of the annual New Mexico Economic Outlook Conference; long-term population projections for New Mexico; and contract research for clients on a variety of economic and demographic topics.
Contract research has always been a mainstay at BBER. Reports produced from these efforts that are available to the public are listed in the Publications section of our web site. More recent reports are viewable in pdf format.
In short, the BBER's research and data archives have made it a one-stop resource for information about the New Mexico economy and the demographic characteristics of the State's population.
