#   Detail may not add to totals because of rounding.
*   Employment data for 2006 and later are not consistent with earlier years.  The 2006 figure reflects
five months of Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) employment in the government sector and
seven months of LANL employment in the professional & business services sector (and also the
private services providing and total private sectors not shown here). Later figures reflect the full
12 months of LANL employment in professional & business services and no LANL employment
in government.  Prior to 2006 LANL employment was recorded in the government sector.  Changes
occurred with the introduction of new management at the lab.  LANL management changed from
the University of California (a state government agency) to a private-public consortium.
Consequently, in June 2006 about 10,000 jobs were shifted from state government to professional
& business services.  Therefore, because of data inconsistencies percent changes for 2006 and
2007 are not calculated for certain sectors.
p   Preliminary.
r    Revised.
1   Nonagricultural wage and salary employment is on a place of work basis and excludes proprietors,
farm workers and unpaid family workers.
