Director
Lee Brown is an economist who earned his Ph.D. from Purdue University. Dr. Brown served as the director of the Bureau of Business and Economic Research (BBER) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) from 1977 to 1981.
In 1977, Brown was appointed as the director of the BBER, where he oversaw research on the economic conditions of New Mexico, including analyzing the state's energy sector, labor market, and income distribution. During his tenure, Brown focused on developing economic models that could help policymakers better understand the effects of various policies on the state's economy.
After retiring from the director position at BBER, Lee Brown went on to be the director of the UNM Division of Public Administration as well as the director of the Natural Resources Center in the School of Law and a Professor of Economics and Public Administration at UNM.
