Alexis Cardwell

Alexis is a Research Scientist at UNM’s Bureau of Business and Economic Research. She joined BBER in August 2020 as a Research Assistant and received a full-time promotion to Research Scientist following her graduation from UNM in May 2023. Her areas of interest and specialization include transportation, labor, development, financial markets, and quantitative methods. She has contributed to various research projects related to agricultural markets, housing markets, oil and gas, air transportation, and labor market information. She is also responsible for conducting fiscal impact analyses for proposed industrial revenue bonds and assisting the director with FOR-UNM. Alexis graduated from UNM in May 2023 with degrees in economics and applied math. In her free time, Alexis enjoys flying, traveling, hiking, going to the beach, spending quality time with her family and friends both here in the U.S. and in Italy, and any other activity that gets her adrenaline going.
