Augustus Guikema

Augustus (Gus) Guikema is a student at the University of New Mexico majoring in Economics and Geography, who joined BBER in the fall of 2023. In their studies, they focus on the intersection of political economy and the environment and plan to pursue a career in environmental law. At BBER, they hope to strengthen their skills in various approaches to economic analysis and to better understand the dynamics of the New Mexican economy. In their free time, Gus enjoys reading, hiking, backpacking, cooking, horror movies, trading/collecting postcards and records, and spending time with their pets and loved ones.
