Katherine Rickers joined BBER as a program assistant in June 2022. She is a graduate student in the Sociology Department at The University of New Mexico. Her research interests include criminal legal system contact, specifically how the criminal legal system further marginalizes youth and women of intersecting identities. She is also interested in social issues around police brutality, reproductive justice, and wealth inequality.

Rickers was born and raised in Albuquerque and graduated from The University of New Mexico with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Psychology in 2019. In her free time, Katherine enjoys running, spending time outdoors, and gathering with loved ones.
