FY2027-FY2037 New Mexico Prison Population Forecast

For Fiscal Years (FY) 2026–2036, UNM’s Bureau of Business & Economic Research (UNM BBER) developed an Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) model to forecast male and female prison populations in the State of New Mexico. In response to a request from the New Mexico Sentencing Commission (NMSC), BBER developed updated ARIMA models for the FY2027–2037 male and female prison population forecasts. Note that this report includes both short-term (one fiscal year) and long-term (ten fiscal years) projections.
